Kera

Kera.jpg

Our resident craft guru, turning her hand to everything from crochet to crown making (and crafting a mean cocktail). Bringing a love of yarn and textiles, a big part of her practice is giving new life to materials and encouraging others to do the same. Her handmade bags are something special, you’ll find some amongst her beautiful creations in the Stable Studios retail space. After a unique piece crafted just for you? Kera loves a custom order to bring your personality, colour and style to life.

From capes and crowns to masks and dreamcatchers, Kera invites people to create pieces that are made to be worn and enjoyed every day — not left on a shelf or “filed” away. With her encouragement, you will leave not just with with something bold, joyful, and entirely your own – but also the confidence to wear it whenever you like! Her workshops are playful, expressive and a totally laid back.

Kera has a natural flair for bringing people together and creating a great atmosphere. Whether she’s leading a workshop, hosting an event or putting together a cocktail list that somehow always hits the mark, she makes people feel welcome.

When she’s not at the studio, you’ll find Kera, her husband and two boys on the court – netball, basketball or floating down a river - you name it, they’ll be there bringing their A-game. At home the family snuggle up with their fluff ball cat, Neville, coexist with a persistent wombat and warmly welcome a host of visitors to their Beechworth home.

Stable Studios stands on the lands of the Dhudhuroa and Waywurru people who have been gathering and creating with this land for generations.

We acknowledge them as the traditional custodians and that this land has never been ceded.

We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, who hold the memories, knowledge, traditions and cultural heritage of their people.
