Katie

Katie O'Toole is passionate about creation and connection, with the emphasis on the process rather than the product. She has facilitated weekly life drawing sessions since 2017 in collaboration with beautiful artists and thanks to generous patrons; Tanswells Hotel, Grand Oaks Resort, and the Empire Hotel. Sessions are warm and inviting for all ages and experience levels and range from gently facilitated to fully tutored, to one-off creation events resulting in instant exhibitions. Casual attendance and term bookings are welcome.
With a background in arts, education, and community services she has a strong focus on inclusion and enjoys working with young people who are neurodivergent, and those who identify as LGBTQIA+. Creating comfortable, inviting spaces where people feel safe to be themselves and to create whatever they want is essential to Katie. She offers workshops for children and young people with a maximum of 6-8 participants, depending on the age range. Workshops include drawing, painting, clay creations, and Lego play. Katie invites participants to bring in their found objects to create new wonders as well as working with nature-based materials.
Katie lives, works, and creates in Beechworth with her husband Daniel, their 3 children, Charles, Amii, and Max, as well as their lovable hounds Kenny Page and Dustin Alexander. They share their home with 2 cockatiels, Toni May and Jay White. You can sometimes see their antics @idlekatie
