Heather

Heather has been sewing for as long as she can remember - a lifelong maker with a deep love for fabric and creating garments. She spent time working as a sample machinist, gaining valuable insight into the commercial fashion industry, before making a tree change to beautiful Beechworth to focus on her own creative pursuits.

She is the founder of Topstitch Pattern Co., an independent sewing pattern label born from her passion for helping people create garments they’re proud to wear.

Heather wears many creative hats. Alongside sewing workshops, she also hosts home barista workshops at Stable Studios, sharing practical skills for brewing excellent coffee at home. Before moving to Beechworth, Heather spent over a decade working in the coffee industry as a trainer and customer care, developing a deep knowledge of espresso, milk texturing and café workflow.

She lives locally with her husband, two children, pooch Wren (and guinea pigs Parsley & Truffles..). From absolute beginners learning to thread a machine, to makers ready to sew their entire wardrobe, Heather’s workshops are welcoming, practical and confidence-building.
