First Stitch is a relaxed and supportive workshop designed for absolute beginners who want to learn the basics of using a sewing machine and working with fabric.

In this hands-on session you’ll learn the essential skills needed to begin sewing with confidence, including how to operate a sewing machine, basic stitching techniques, and how to handle fabric while completing a simple project to take home.

Heather has been sewing for most of her life and has professional experience working as a sample machinist, producing garments to industry standards. With many years of training and teaching experience, she focuses on making sewing approachable, practical and enjoyable for beginners.

This workshop is a great introduction to sewing and a perfect first step for anyone considering continuing their sewing journey.
